Leaving Instagram? Here’s how to save your photos before you go

With so many people leaving and/or taking a break from social media, it’s only natural to want to save your memories before you start deleting everything all willy-nilly. And while there are dozens of tutorials out there, many of them are just straight up boring and will most likely steer you in the wrong direction (like it did to me just a few minutes ago.)

So here are some clear, easy (and accurate) instructions on how to save your IG life without having to screen capture hundreds of pictures one by one like some caveman.

On your mobile device:

Step 1: Login to the Instagram account that you wish to delete or take a break from.

Step 2: Press your profile picture on the bottom right corner of your screen.

Step 3: Tap the menu on the top right of your screen.

Step 4: Go to the, ‘Settings’ section on the bottom right and push it, but make sure to push it real good.

Step 5: Find the icon that looks like a knight’s shield with a checkmark on it. The text next to it should read, ‘security.’ Go ahead and give it a poke.

Step 6: Find the bold section at the bottom that says, ‘Download Data’ and access that. Input your e-mail information and remember to wait until…
